When engaging a vendor, enter into a signed written agreement with the vendor that specifies: ▪ The scope of the project, the project deliverables and delivery time-frames, and the fees to be paid for such services (including the timing of payment) ▪ The insurance required to be maintained by the vendor, including at least workers compensation and general liability coverage and amounts of coverage (*Note: You should also require the vendor to provide the hall with current certificates of insurance) ▪ That the vendor has all licenses, permits, and other regulatory approvals necessary to perform the work ▪ Warranties that the vendor agrees to provide to the hall to back up the quality of their work If a contract is related to a complex or expensive project, have legal counsel review it before signing.
